ABOUT THE
FOREST BEND FIRE DEPARTMENT
The Forest Bend Fire Department was established in 1973. The Department is responsible for providing Fire Protection and First Responder/EMS Care. We serve approximately 6 sq. miles with a population of 17,000 residents and over 150 Businesses located in unincorporated South Harris County.
All members, both day-crew and volunteers, of the Forest Bend Fire Department have diverse emergency medical and fire suppression related responsibilities and duties that vary not only day-to-day but sometimes minute-by-minute. This group of dedicated employees consists of 17 day-crew firefighters that work Monday through Friday, 7:30AM to 5:30PM. In addition, to our day crew, we have 30 volunteer firefighters and first responders that respond to emergencies 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The Forest Bend Fire Department provides “all-hazards” response and we pride ourselves on our ability to effectively prepare for and efficiently respond to a diverse variety of emergencies and requests for assistance from the community.
